Sailing Hawaii On Crewed Charter Yachts

March 20th, 2009 by ama | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

There is nothing like being treated as if you are a prince or princess whilst sailing the beautiful turquoise seas of Hawaii. The gentle sway of the sea and the smell of the warm ocean breezes will put a person in total idle mode. Can you feel it?  Do you want it? Yacht charters and sailing Hawaii may be more affordable than you think and may not require the whole king’s ransom.

Know the feeling of having your own yacht without the maintenance and upkeep costs of ownership.

Be treated like a yacht owner by the skillfully prepared crew. They will be at your beck and call with just a snap of a finger.

Avoid Crowded Hotels and Large Luxury Liners.

Personalize your vacation whatever way you like on crewed charter yachts. On huge cruise ships with hundreds of other guests to attend and cater to, that is not feasible, there is a pre-planned itinerary.

Cordon Bleu trained chefs will cook renown recipes at your request. There are abundant recreational water activities such as; snorkeling, water skiing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, etc.

Before scheduling with one of the many crewed charter yachts available with Hawaii yacht charters compare prices, check the captain’s resume as well as the crew’s on the internet.Even the yacht’s specs will be there for you to see. The floor plans will be available to see where you will be sleeping, where the crew is quartered, etc.

It is advised that you verify with a friend or partner who may have recently sailed on one of the Hawaii yacht charters listed online. Traveler’s stories are always the best advice.

After reserving the yacht’s captain will usually call ahead for specific needs. At that time you can make known any special meals that you would like prepared or tours you might want to take. Often times he will greet you at the airport and personally take you to the boat dock.

The experienced trained crew and captain treat you like royalty in a way that is so discreet that you hardly detect them while they are piloting the yacht, preparing your meals, and cleaning your cabin.

So, all you kings and queens out there, relax and enjoy your massages on the lido deck while drinking martinis (shaking, not stirred) aboard your luxury yacht.

Redfish Fishing

March 10th, 2009 by ama | No Comments | Filed in Boating

In this article I want to share with you the best redfish fishing techniques and tips, but I want to also explain what the redfish actually is for the beginners.

First of all, let’s introduce ourselves to the topic of redfish fishing. What is redfish and where you can find them? You can find redfish, also known as red drum, along the coast of the southern USA. You can recognize it by the black spot on their tails. Redfish inhabit shallow bays and estuaries, targeting crustaceans and baitfish. They are highly valued as a recreational fish. Fisherman who specialize in these fish are called redfish anglers. They often take part in national tournaments that are similar to freshwater bass fishing competitions. There are redfish fishing tournaments all over the gulf coast. I saw my first one on TV one Sunday morning and that was a first time I heard about redfish fishing..

For me redfish fishing is a whole world. Although I don’t live in the southern USA, I go there every year just to do redfish fishing. I bring my whole family with me and it is always such a wonderful event. It has become our family tradition. We all love it, because it’s both healthy, you are on a fresh air all day, and fun and it brings family together.

Ok, let’s move on to the refish fishing techniques. Red drum or redfish can be caught in many ways. Perhaps the best known for fishing redfish is to anchor along a channel edge or shoal and bottom fish with cut peeler crab bait or other baits including, squid, cut spot, live spot and even chicken breast soaked in peeler crab oil. These are all excellent techniques.

In the Virginia, in areas like Pocomoke and Tangier Sounds, anglers usually look for a somewhat sharp drop and anchor so that the boat lies on the slope of the channel. This depth is only a starting point and can vary greatly.

Many anglers prefer to fish a window of opportunity that includes the last 2 hours of the incoming current and the first 2 hours of the outgoing. If this coincides with dusk, the fishing is more likely to be really good.

Other techniques for catching Virginia and Chesapeake Bay redfish include trolling large spoons in the lower bay areas.

Using surf in fishing is an excellent way to catch redfish in Virginia. Along the Atlantic beaches and around Virginia barrier islands, anglers use a fish finder or other rig and fish with baits such as whole spot, spot fillets or heads, mullet, bluefish fillets, crabs, shrimp or other baits. There is a great deal of methods in redfish fishing.

I hope you liked this introductory article to the world of redfish fishing and you will join our ever growing community. Believe me, you will really enjoy it. You should really have a look at these brilliant redfish fishing tips. These are the top techniques used by the pros now available to you. I’ve seen them and they are really cool. This has completely changed my life.

Tips When Selecting the Perfect Boat Equipment

March 7th, 2009 by ama | No Comments | Filed in Boating

fishing stories

Boating is an exciting hobby because of the wide and varied selection of boat equipment available. From romantic sailing ships to motorized houseboats, the boat equipment and boating supplies that you choose depends on how you want to utilize your new vessel. Some boats are better for day trips with a one or two person crew, while others are capable of supporting a family for several weeks or even months at a time. Shop around for your new boat equipment to find a product that best fits your needs.

First, decide what you want to do with your new boat. Do you want to sit around in the evenings swapping fishing stories? If so, you will want a boat designed for day trips or overnight stays and one that is easily able to navigate waterways to reach the best fishing spots. Consider the all-purpose motor boats, a bass boat or even an air boat.

If you are primarily interested in water sports, choose from a wide variety of motor boats. Available in several shapes, sizes and prices, many of the motor boats are ideal for such activities as water skiing. So-called sports boats are available as well, but may carry a higher price tag.

If sailing is your passion, you may want to consider a cruising sailboat. These boats combine the excitement of sailing with the convenience of plumbing and cooking facilities. These boats are designed primarily for weekend trips or short vacations, but many are actually large enough to live aboard. However, novice sailors or those with limited budgets may prefer a dinghy sailboat. These smaller, less expensive boats are perfect learning vessels and some even convert to rowboats.

If money is no object, you might want to invest in a houseboat or even a yacht. These large ships are graciously appointed with living quarters, plumbing and cooking facilities, and even mini-bars. This type of ship is designed to be lived in for long periods. Some owners choose to forego other living accommodations in order to live full time onboard.

There is no one-size-fits-all determination of the best boat for any situation. You can get advice from other boat owners by visiting a boating forum. Also, read up on the different types of boats in a wide variety of boating books. Make sure that you understand the different types of boats available including differences in motor types, facilities, and legal and insurance requirements. Do your homework before you go shopping for your new boat equipment.

Once you visit your local marine supply shop and decide what type of boat equipment you want, be sure to shop around to find the best deal. Boat prices can vary dramatically. Most dealers do not offer every conceivable type and model of boat, so taking the time to visit several can yield a better selection from which to choose. Boat equipment is a long term and expensive investment, so be sure not to hurry the selection process.

How to Have a Successful Family Saving Holiday

March 5th, 2009 by ama | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Before you have kids you think that your life will continue and you will be able to still do all the things you did before, just maybe not for a few years, or maybe with a little bit of an adjustment.  This is a great attitude to have and by far the most positive.  However, you will come across a huge number of people who think that you are insane and spend the whole of your first pregnancy telling you that you have no idea what a shock you are in for.  Well, don’t listen to these people, stay positive.

So is it safe to take your kids sailing from an early age?  Firstly, it is important to remember that all children are different.  You will have heard this phrase a lot, but until you have a child, or sometimes not until you have a second will you realize how true this is.  When your child is very young, and not even rolling over, then you can pretty much do and go anywhere you like.  The only concern at this age is keeping them away from unnecessary illness and disease, so probably advisable to stay first world.  This will not be a problem if you are considering a sailing holiday.  If considering sailing with young babies you will need very little. It is best to try and pick out easy temperatures, not to hot and not too cold. Also try to pick out a destination where the sailing is on an easy breeze such as around the Greek islands, rather than the ravages of more turbulent waters.  It is advisable to have a good baby carrier.  For this you are probably better off with one of the fabric slings rather than a structured sling.  The fabric slings stop your baby from overheating as they are all cotton, and they are also more comfortable, for adult and baby, if the baby sleeps in them.

If you are looking at going on a sailing holiday with a toddlers you are setting your self a much harder challenge. Some toddlers are very cautious and cafeful, still, accidents can always happen. This is probably the most dangerous age to take sailing and probably not recommended for sailing where you are planning of staying on the boat.  At this age it is probably best to have accommodation on land and then to head out for the odd day trips.  This means that if you all start to find it too stressful you can spend some days doing other things, and the holiday will not be ruined.  If you commit yourself to staying on a yatch you are limiting your options.

Once your child is school age then you will find that it is all different.  They will tell you if they are scared or uncomfortable.  They will be able to participate and they will understand danger much better.  It is still worth keeping a few other options up your sleve as you may find that your child suddenly decides that they don’t want to be on the water all the time.

So don’t forget your dreams of family yachting holidays, juts keep it realistic and prove all those doubters wrong.
